Juan Carranza Killed in Shafter Car Accident at Orange Street and Poplar Avenue
Shafter, California – Following a Shafter accident that took place on Orange Street and Poplar Avenue on Monday afternoon, Juan Gabriel Luna Carranza, 27, of Bakersfield among three others were killed, according to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office.
On October 5, at around 4 pm, a Chevy Impala was allegedly speeding westbound on Orange Street, when it failed to stop at the red light and broadsided an Infiniti sedan traveling south on Poplar Avenue.
Juan was the driver of the Infiniti who was killed among one of his passengers, Ramon Suastegui Arreola, 27, of Bakersfield. Meanwhile, a 24-year-old passenger was taken to Kern Medical sustaining major injuries.
Yolanda Gutierrez, 19, of Shafter who was driving the Impala was rushed to the hospital, however, she was declared dead.
The accident remains under investigation by the CHP.
