Ryan Milliner Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on 10 Freeway in Baldwin Park

Ryan Milliner ID’d as Boy Killed in Baldwin Park Car Accident on San Bernardino (10) Freeway near Francisquito Avenue Off-Ramp

Baldwin Park, California (May 12, 2020) – Authorities have identified the boy who was killed Sunday afternoon in a traffic accident involving several vehicles in Baldwin Park as Ryan Milliner, 13.

The fatal crash happened at about 1:40 p.m. Sunday, May 10, on the eastbound San Bernardino (10) Freeway, just west of the Francisquito Avenue exit.

According to California Highway Patrol, a 32-year-old Pomona man was driving a 2008 International DuraStar flatbed tow truck in the No. 5 lane of the freeway when he failed to stop for traffic in front of him and crashed into the rear of a 2018 Toyota Corolla, which then rear-ended a 2019 Kia Niro occupied by a 45-year-old Culver City man. The Kia was pushed into the rear of a 2008 Honda Odyssey and a 2006 Honda CRV.

The Honda CRV then crashed into the back of a 2000 Corolla in the number 5 lane, which then rear-ended the tow truck. The tow truck also slammed into the back of a 2018 Nissan Murano that was in the No. 4 lane.

The force of the impact pushed the Murano into a center divider wall. The Murano then collided with a 2004 Dodge Ram truck occupied by two Norwalk residents.

A 2018 Lexus IS200T couldn’t stop and also slammed into the Murano.

Milliner, who was in the right rear seat of the Murano, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Murano and three other occupants suffered moderate to major injuries.

The driver of the Toyota Corolla, a 29-year-old La Puente woman, sustained major blunt force trauma injuries. The three occupants of the Corolla sustained major to minor injuries following the wreck. One of the injured parties was airlifted to a hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.

According to Arin Khodaverdian, the Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group, a separate investigation by an experienced attorney is necessary to clearly uncover the circumstances surrounding the collision. “An attorney will also help the victim to navigate all the legal processes in pursuit of fair compensation and justice. Car accident claims are rarely straightforward, and, regardless of the circumstances involved, liable insurance companies will often do everything possible to limit their out-of-pocket expenses by either devaluing or outright denying your claim. It is crucial, therefore, that you have an experienced attorney on your side,” said Arin.
