Rudolph Allen ID’d as Man Killed in El Sobrante Pedestrian Accident on San Pablo Dam Road
El Sobrante, California (May 1, 2020) – The man who died after being hit by a vehicle Sunday night in El Sobrante has been identified as Rudolph Allen, 52, of Pinole.
The fatal crash took place at about 8:25 p.m. Sunday, April 26, in front of Jay Vee Liquors in the 3600 block of San Pablo Dam Road.
Authorities said Allen was in front of the store when he was struck by a 1998 Toyota Camry that was traveling eastbound on San Pablo Dam Road.
Allen was transported to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday, April 29.
A witness told police that Allen was attempting to retrieve his property after it had been thrown into the roadway by somebody else.
The 57-year-old driver of the Camry remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
Authorities said the area where Allen was struck was not marked and extremely dark.
The accident remains under investigation.
