Matthew Mackenzie ID’d as Camarillo Resident Killed in Somis Truck Crash at Los Angeles Avenue and La Cumbre Road
Somis, California (May 29, 2020) – Authorities have identified Matthew Mackenzie, 28, of Camarillo, as the person who was killed on Tuesday morning in a truck accident in Somis.
The fatal crash occurred at the interaction of Los Angeles Avenue and La Cumbre Road, at about 8:45 a.m., on May 26.
A sedan, driven by Mackenzie, was heading eastbound on Los Angeles Avenue when, for unknown reasons, it crossed into the westbound lane, the police said
The car reportedly collided with an oncoming flatbed truck and a semi-truck that was also heading westbound on the roadway.
Mackenzie was pronounced dead at the crash site.
Los Angeles Avenue was closed in both directions for several hours, and as of 1:15 p.m., the roadway was reopened.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
According to Arin Khodaverdian, the Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group, a separate investigation by an experienced attorney is necessary to clearly uncover the circumstances surrounding the collision. “An attorney will also help the victim to navigate all the legal processes in pursuit of fair compensation and justice. Car accident claims are rarely straightforward, and, regardless of the circumstances involved, liable insurance companies will often do everything possible to limit their out-of-pocket expenses by either devaluing or outright denying your claim. It is crucial, therefore, that you have an experienced attorney on your side,” said Arin.
