Carmela Camacho Killed Pedestrian Crash on San Pasqual Valley Road in Escondido

Carmela Camacho ID’d as Victim Killed in Escondido Pedestrian Accident on San Pasqual Valley Road near Oak Hill Drive

Escondido, California (May 8, 2020) – Carmela Camacho, 50, has been identified as one of the four pedestrians who were killed in a crash on Tuesday night in Escondido, according to police.

Authorities are investigating a Tuesday night auto-pedestrian accident that killed four people in Escondido.

At about 8:30 p.m., on May 5, the officials responded to the fatal crash on San Pasqual Valley Road near Oak Hill Drive.

Carmela Camacho, 50, her partner and her two grandchildren were, for unknown reasons, hit from behind by a 2014 Mazda 3, said the police.

The Mazda was reportedly traveling northbound on San Pasqual Valley Road at the time.

Camacho’s partner and her grandchild succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

Camacho and the other grandchild were taken to Palomar Medical Center, where they died as a result of injuries sustained from the crash.

A 28-year-old Escondido woman, the Mazda driver, was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

A person on foot is no match for a vehicle. Pedestrians have virtually no protection when they are hit by cars, motorcycles, trucks, and other vehicles. Sadly, this often leads to catastrophic injuries and/or death. “Due to the incredibly serious nature of these types of injuries, pedestrian accident cases often require special care in order to help ensure victims receive the full compensation they need for extensive medical bills, ongoing rehabilitation therapy, in-home care, lost past and future earnings, and numerous other economic and non-economic damages”, Said Arin Khodaverdian, an experienced pedestrian accident attorney.

Arin noted that pedestrians, in most instances, have the right-of-way when crossing a street or an intersection. According to Arin, to properly investigate a pedestrian crash and prove negligence, enough resources are required. “A skilled attorney has the resources and will help investigate the accident to determine the party at fault,” Arin said
