1 Killed, 2 Hospitalized After Vehicle Plows Into Homeless Encampment Near Flower and 52nd Streets

Fatal Los Angeles Car Accident Near Flower and 52nd Streets

Los Angeles, California (May 3, 2020) – A traffic collision involving a car near the intersection of Flower and 52nd streets in Los Angeles early Friday morning resulted in the death of one unidentified person.

According to a local news source, a black sedan traveling south on Flower Street lost control, jumped a curb before plowing through the homeless encampment just about 3:00 a.m.

The vehicle then struck a light pole near the intersection and hit a male party sleeping in the area.

One unidentified person was pronounced dead at the scene while two others were hospitalized with unspecified injuries.

The sedan driver, a 19-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
