Damian Avina Killed in Big Rig Crash on Highway 132 in Modesto

Damian Avina Dies after Modesto Truck Accident on Highway 132 and Hart Road

Modesto, California (March 24, 2020) – The authorities have identified one of the two Crows Landing residents who were killed in a traffic accident on Saturday morning in Modesto as Damian Avina, 22.

The crash occurred on Highway 132 and Hart Road, at about 6:50 a.m., March 21.

The police said a big rig, operated by Harinder Chhina, 39, of Tracy, was traveling westbound on Highway 132 while a Volvo was heading southbound on Hart Road. The two vehicles collided at the intersection for unknown reasons.

The force of the impact pushed the Volvo forward and both came to stop in a field at the southwest corner of the intersection.

Avina, who was a passenger in the Volvo, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Volvo also died at the scene due to the crash.

Chhina was uninjured in the accident.

Drugs or alcohol were not considered a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

According to Arin Khodaverdian, the Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group, a separate investigation by an experienced attorney is necessary so as clearly uncover the circumstances surrounding the collision. “An attorney will also help the victim to navigate all the legal processes in pursuit of fair compensation and justice. Car accident claims are rarely straightforward, and, regardless of the circumstances involved, liable insurance companies will often do everything possible to limit their out-of-pocket expenses by either devaluing or outright denying your claim. It is crucial, therefore, that you have an experienced attorney on your side,” said Arin.
