2 Critically Injured after Getting by Vehicle at Flower and First Streets in Santa Ana

Man, Woman Critically Injured in Santa Ana Pedestrian Accident at Flower and First Streets

Santa Ana, California (March 24, 2020) – Two people were struck and critically injured by a vehicle as they were crossing a street in Santa Ana Monday night, according to authorities.

The accident occurred just after 11:30 p.m. Monday, March 23at the intersection of Flower and First Streets.

Authorities said a man and woman were crossing the street when they were struck by a black Chevrolet Camaro.

Police determined that one of the victims was either riding a bicycle or walking when the accident occurred.

Both patients sustained life-threatening injuries and were transported to a hospital for treatment. Their names and conditions were not immediately disclosed.

The driver involved stopped at the scene and was cooperative, authorities said. Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.

A person on foot is no match for a vehicle. Pedestrians have virtually no protection when they are hit by cars, motorcycles, trucks, and other vehicles. Sadly, this often leads to catastrophic injuries and/or death. “Due to the incredibly serious nature of these types of injuries, pedestrian accident cases often require special care in order to help ensure victims receive the full compensation they need for extensive medical bills, ongoing rehabilitation therapy, in-home care, lost past and future earnings, and numerous other economic and non-economic damages”, Said Arin Khodaverdian, an experienced pedestrian accident attorney.

Arin noted that pedestrians, in most instances, have the right-of-way when crossing a street or an intersection. According to Arin, to properly investigate a pedestrian crash and prove negligence, enough resources are required. “A skilled attorney has the resources and will help investigate the accident to determine the party at fault,” Arin said
