CHP Investigation Major Injury Novato 2-Vehicle Collision on Highway 101 near Atherton Avenue

Novato, California (June 22, 2020) – According to a California Highway Patrol report, one unidentified person was hospitalized at Marin General Hospital with major injuries after a silver Toyota sedan and a black truck crashed in the area of Novato Saturday afternoon.

The manner in which the accident occurred in the southbound lanes of Highway 101, near south of Atherton Avenue at about 12:20 p.m. was not immediately established at the time of the report.

The sedan reportedly rolled over and came to a stop on its wheels upon the impact.

One of the involved cars had three occupants at the time of the mishap.

The Nos. 2 and 3 lanes of southbound Highway 101 at Atherton Avenue were shut down to about 1:22 p.m. as police and emergency crews worked to investigate and clear the scene.
