Jacob Echegoyen Fatal Victorville Motorcycle Accident on Highway 395

Victorville, California (June 24, 2020) – 25-year-old Jacob Echegoyen, of Victorville, has been identified as the rider who died following a traffic collision that occurred between Bear Valley Road and La Mesa Road in Victorville at approximately 5:30 p.m. June 19, according to a San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office report.

The accident happened when a white-colored truck with an attached trailer hauling party equipment heading northbound on Highway 395 made a U-turn to head southbound on Highway 395 to avoid heavy traffic from a previous non-injury accident.

Echegoyen, who was riding his white Honda Interceptor motorcycle also northbound on the highway, hit the pickup truck’s side as it was completing the U-turn on Friday evening.

Echegoyen died in the accident at around 5:40 p.m.

Officials affirmed that there was no other victim injured in the mishap.

The wreck resulted in the closure of the northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 395 to about 10:00 p.m. as the investigation and clean-up took place.

The fatal accident remains under an active investigation.
