Fatal Monterey Car Accident on Highway 1 near Highway 156, June 26
Monterey, California (June 27, 2020) – One person died at Natividad Medical Center after their blue 2013 VW Tiguan was rear-ended by a white 2019 Ford F250 in Monterey Friday afternoon, June 26.
As per the report, the VW Tiguan was slowing down on northbound Highway 1, near Highway 156, prior to the 3:00 p.m. collision.
The name of the deceased has not yet been released to this time.
Officials later identified the Ford motorist as 49-year-old Kevin Johnson of Ellijay, Georgia.
There was no other person injured as a resulted of the mishap.
Meanwhile, intoxication was not believed to have played a role in the wreck.
The detectives handling the case are gathering more evidence to determine the cause of the accident.
