CHP Investigating Fatal Fresno DUI Car Accident at Nees and Chestnut Avenues
Fresno, California (April 25, 2020) – Authorities are investigating the circumstances that led to an alleged DUI fatal collision that took place at Nees and Chestnut avenues in Fresno, just about 3:00 p.m. April 25.
Police said a red Volkswagen sedan with two people inside was traveling westbound on Nees Avenue when it was struck by a pickup truck operated by a male party.
The car motorist sustained non-life threatening injuries in the crash. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
A man riding in the sedan died at Saint Agnes Medical Center, where he was admitted after the wreck.
The truck driver, who was intoxicated at the time of the collision, was not hurt following the mishap. He was later arrested on DUI charges.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
