1 Killed, 2 Injured in Desert Hot Springs Motorcycle Crash at Highway 62 and Pierson Boulevard

Desert Hot Springs, California (April 25, 2020) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a Saturday afternoon motorcycle crash that killed one person and left two persons injured in Desert Hot Springs.

At about 12:19 p.m., the police responded to the deadly crash at the intersection of Highway 62 and Pierson Boulevard.

The authorities said a motorcycle was struck by an SUV that was heading westbound on Pierson Boulevard. The motorcycle got stuck under the SUV following the accident.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other victims were taken to a hospital with one of them seriously hurt.

Following the mishap, traffic on all eastbound lanes of Highway 62 was stopped for an unknown time.

An investigation into the crash is underway.

“Far too many motorcycle collisions are caused by the carelessness or recklessness of other motorists. Sadly, when this occurs, motorcyclists are the ones who tend to suffer the vast majority of injuries”, according to Arin Khodaverdian, Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group. Under California’s rule of comparative negligence, a victim may be able to collect compensation for injuries and other damages even if you were partly at fault for the accident.
