Motorcyclist Severely Hurt in Interstate 80 Crash in Davis

Rider Hospitalized after Davis Motorcycle Accident on Interstate 80 near Olive Drive Off-Ramp

Davis, California (April 19, 2020) – A traffic accident in Davis left a motorcycle rider severely injured Saturday afternoon.

The motorcyclist was traveling on westbound Interstate 80 east Olive Drive exit at around 2:45 p.m. when they collided with a possible dark-gray 2017 GMC Terrain hauling a red trailer, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene and found the rider down on the line between Nos. 1 and 2 lanes. The rider was taken to a local hospital with major injuries.

A tow truck was dispatched to the scene to remove the bike.

The accident remains under investigation.

“Far too many motorcycle collisions are caused by the carelessness or recklessness of other motorists. Sadly, when this occurs, motorcyclists are the ones who tend to suffer the vast majority of injuries”, according to Arin Khodaverdian, Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group. Under California’s rule of comparative negligence, a victim may be able to collect compensation for injuries and other damages even if you were partly at fault for the accident.
