18-Year-Old Driver Killed in Traver Pedestrian Accident on Highway 99 near Merritt Drive
Traver, California (April 9, 2020) – An 18-year-old male driver was killed after being hit by a truck on Wednesday evening in Traver, according to the CHP.
The crash happened at about 7:45 p.m., on April 8, on Highway 99 near Merritt Drive.
A driver was traveling northbound on Highway 99 when his tire blew off. The driver pulled over to inspect his car. As he was checking his vehicle, a UPS truck also driving northbound on the highway struck him, according to the officials.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following the accident, the driver of the truck stopped and cooperated with the police.
Alcohol or drugs were not suspected to be factors in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
