Christopher Gilpineda Dies after Pomona Pedestrian Accident on 10 Freeway near Kellogg Drive
Pomona, California (April 12, 2020) – Gilpineda of Montebello, 21, has been identified as the man who was killed in a crash on Saturday night in Pomona, according to police.
The crash happened on the San Bernardino (10) Freeway, west of Kellogg Drive, at about 11:25 p.m. on April 11.
Montebello was driving his 2017 Honda Civic westbound on the freeway when its front left tire went flat. Montebello stopped within the Nos. 3 and 4 lanes and alighted to check his car.
A 2018 Honda Civic that was approaching rear-ended the 2017 Honda and struck Montebello, who was standing next to his vehicle, said the officials.
Montebello was pronounced dead at the scene due to the crash.
More details about the accident were not immediately available.
