Branden Ocampo, 27, Killed in Desert Hot Springs Motorcycle Accident on Highway 62 and Pierson Boulevard
Desert Hot Springs, California (April 28, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a motorcycle accident that killed a man and left a woman seriously injured on Saturday afternoon in Desert Hot Springs.
As per the police logs, the crash happened at about 12:30 p.m., on April 25, at the intersection of Highway 62 and Pierson Boulevard.
A Suzuki GSX-R1100, driven by Branden Ocampo, 27, of Perris, was traveling on Highway 62 when it crashed into an SUV, which was attempting to cross the roadway, according to the authorities.
The SUV, operated by a 37-year-old woman, failed to yield to Ocampo’s right of way.
Ocampo succumbed to his injuries at the scene. He was wearing a helmet as the accident transpired.
The SUV driver was taken to a hospital for treatment of major injuries sustained from the accident.
All eastbound lanes of Highway 62 were closed for an unknown period following the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
“Far too many motorcycle collisions are caused by the carelessness or recklessness of other motorists.
