1 Killed and 6 Injured in Arvin Car Crash at Fairfax Road and Bear Mountain Road

Fatal Arvin 2-Vehicle Accident at Fairfax Road and Bear Mountain Road

Arvin, California (April 21, 2020) – One person died and six others injured after Chevy Suburban collided with a Dodge Caliber at Fairfax Road and Bear Mountain Road in Arvin at around 5:41 a.m. Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

As per the report, the Suburban was travelling westbound on Bear Mountain Blvd while the Dodge Caliber was heading southbound on Fairfax Road. The two vehicles collided when the Caliber made a direct left turn in front of the SUV.

The SUV overturned upon the impact, and one of its passengers was ejected.

The ejected victim, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A total of six other people sustained minor injuries in the crash. Five out of six victims were transported to area hospitals for further aid.

The crash resulted in the closure of the intersection as investigation and clean-up took place.

The involved parties were believed to be farmworkers and were on their way to work, the Kern County Fire Department reported.

Neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected factors in the accident. An investigation into the crash is underway.
