Man, 49, Killed in Hollister Motorcycle Crash at Highway 25 and Highway 156

Hollister, California (April 15, 2020) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a Tuesday morning fatal motorcycle crash in Hollister.

The accident involving a motorcycle and a truck was reported at around 10:20 a.m., on April 14, at the intersection of Highway 25 and Highway 156.

A 2009 Piaggio motorcycle, driven by a 49-year-old man from Gilroy, was traveling through the intersection on Highway 25 when it was struck by a truck, the police said.

The truck, a 2010 Kenworth operated by a 29-year-old Modesto man, was traveling westbound on Highway 156, and it entered the intersection against a red light.

Following the accident, the motorcyclist was declared dead at the scene. His identity was not released.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the collision is asked to contact CHP Officer Tiffany Quintana at 408-848-2324.

“Far too many motorcycle collisions are caused by the carelessness or recklessness of other motorists. Sadly, when this occurs, motorcyclists are the ones who tend to suffer the vast majority of injuries”, according to Arin Khodaverdian, Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group. Under California’s rule of comparative negligence, a victim may be able to collect compensation for injuries and other damages even if you were partly at fault for the accident.
