Yucca Valley Man Killed in Thousand Palms Car Accident on Ramon Road

56-Year-Old Yucca Valley Man Dies Following Fatal Thousand Palms Crash on Ramon Road near Roberts Road Tuesday night

Thousand Palms, California (September 11, 2019) – According to a California Highway Patrol report, a 56-year-old Yucca Valley man was killed Tuesday night in a traffic crash in Thousand Palms.

The deadly accident happened at about 10:45 p.m. Tuesday, September 10 on Ramon Road, just west of Robert Road.

As per the CHP report, the Yucca Valley man was driving a 2017 Nissan Sentra westbound on Ramon Road at a high rate of speed when he made an unsafe turning movement to the right side of the roadway and rear-ended a 2019 International tractor-trailer combination vehicle, which was parked along the right shoulder of westbound Ramon Road, with its hazard lights activated.

The Sentra ended up wedged underneath the big after the impact.

The driver of the Sentra who was not wearing a seat belt was declared deceased at the scene of the accident. His name has not been pending notification of family.

The operator of the big, who was asleep in the big truck’s sleeper compartment at the time of the accident, was not injured.

Westbound Ramon Road at Roberts Road was shut down as the investigation and cleanup took place.

Neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected in the crash.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
