Woman Hospitalized after Stolen Commercial Truck Accident at Sierra and Marygold Avenues in Fontana

Woman Injured in Fontana Crash at Sierra and Marygold Avenues; Joshua Cook Arrested

Fontana, California (September 7, 2019) – According to a local news source, a woman was injured in a traffic accident involving a stolen commercial truck at an intersection in Fontana Wednesday morning.

The crash happened at about 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 4 at the intersection of Sierra and Marygold avenues.

Authorities said a Honda was hit from behind by the stolen truck driven by Joshua Cook, 34. The force of the impact caused the Honda to strike a traffic signal and another vehicle. Cook’s vehicle crossed over the center median and traveled across northbound lanes before crashing into a fence.

The female driver of the Honda was transported to Kaiser Hospital with moderate injuries. Her name and current condition were immediately disclosed.

Cook was arrested and transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center where he was admitted due to a preexisting medical condition.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
