William Lee Vinyard Jr. Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on SR-76 in Vista

William Lee Vinyard Jr. ID’d as Oceanside Man Killed in State Route 76 Crash in Vista

Vista, California (September 4, 2019) – The authorities have identified the man who was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Labor Day on state Route 76 in Vista as William Lee Vinyard Jr.,64, of Oceanside.

The fatal crash happened around 3:35 a.m. on Monday, September 2, at East Vista Way.

According to the authorities, Vinyard was driving a Nissan Sentra westbound on state Route 76 when he tried to turn left onto southbound East Vista Way, against a red light.

A Jeep Wrangler driven by a 36-year-old Temecula man was heading eastbound on State Route 76, when the Nissan turned directly into its path, resulting in a collision.

Vinyard was declared dead at the scene. The Jeep driver sustained minor injuries in the crash.

The authorities are conducting the investigation.
