Victoria Johnson Killed in Ventura Car Accident on Bristol Road

Victoria Johnson ID’d as Girl Killed in Ventura Crash on Bristol Road near Ermine Avenue

Ventura, California (September 14, 2019) – The girl who was killed Friday morning in a traffic accident in Ventura has been identified as Victoria Johnson, 5.

The crash happened at about 8:45 a.m. Friday, September 6 on Bristol Road, just east of Ermine Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 39-year Ventura woman was driving a Hyundai westbound on Bristol Road when she lost control of the car. The Hyundai veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a Toyota Camry driven by a 58-year-old Ventura man.

The driver of the Hyundai sustained minor injuries. The Johnson’s 35-year-old mother, who was not wearing a seat belt and was in the back seat, suffered major injuries.

All occupants of the Hyundai were transported to Ventura County Medical Center. Johnson, who was riding in the back seat of the Hyundai and was wearing a seat belt, was later airlifted to at UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles where she was pronounced dead on Monday, September 9.

The Camry driver was taken by ambulance to St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard minor injuries.

The road was closed for four hours while the investigation and cleanup took place. No arrest was made.
