San Luis Obispo Woman Killed in Goleta Car Accident on Highway 101 and Las Varas Canyon Road
Goleta, California (September 17, 2019) – A 35-year-old San Luis Obispo woman who was critically injured last week Tuesday afternoon in a traffic accident that also left four other people injured in Goleta has died.
The wreck took place at around 1:35 p.m. Tuesday, September 10 on Highway 101 and Las Varas Canyon Road.
According to a local news report, a 2007 Ford F350 making a left turn from Highway 101 onto Las Varas Canyon Road was struck by a 2015 Toyota Tundra that was traveling southbound. Due to the impact, both vehicles ended up in a ditch.
The 35-year-old San Luis Obispo woman who was riding as a passenger in the Tundra was transported to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries on Sunday, September 15.
The male driver of the Toyota Tundra sustained minor injuries. A 2-year-old boy in the Tundra suffered moderate injuries. The male driver of the Ford was treated at the scene, but his male passenger suffered serious injuries following the wreck.
Three ambulances transported the four injured victims to the hospital.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident. Alcohol or drugs were not considered factors in the crash.
