Person Hit, Killed by Amtrak Train on Devonshire Street in Chatsworth

1 Killed, 1 Injured in Chatsworth Train Accident on Devonshire Street near Chatsworth Station

Chatsworth, California (September 19, 2019) – According to a local news report, a pedestrian died after being struck by an Amtrak train in Chatsworth Wednesday night.

The fatal crash occurred at around 8:10 p.m. Wednesday, September 18 in a non-pedestrian area in the 21300 block of Devonshire Street, just north of the Chatsworth Station.

As per the local news report, the pedestrian was hit by the Amtrak Coast Starlight Train 11that was traveling from Seattle to Los Angeles.

The victim, who has not been identified pending family notification, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

One other person sustained injuries in the crash and was transported to a hospital. It was immediately unclear if that patient had been aboard the train.

None of the 151 passengers or crew members onboard the train was injured in the accident.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
