Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash in San Jose Early Tuesday Morning

1 Killed in San Jose Pedestrian Crash near Story Road and Felipe Avenue

San Jose, California (September 3, 2019) – A pedestrian died in a hit-and-run accident that occurred early Tuesday morning near an intersection in San Jose, a local news source reported.

San Jose police said the incident took place just after 4 a.m. near the intersection of Story Road and Felipe Avenue.

Officers said the pedestrian was struck by two cars.

A man driving a Dodge van told police that he was traveling west on Story Road when he noticed the brake lights of a car in front of him. That vehicle had allegedly struck the pedestrian and kept going. The Dodge driver then hit the pedestrian.

The Dodge driver stopped at the scene and informed police about the accident.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

There were no details given on the vehicle that fled the scene.

Authorities closed the westbound lanes of Story Road between Highway 101 and Felipe Avenue until about 9:00 a.m. following the crash.

The accident is under an active investigation.
