Pedestrian Severely Injured in Santa Fe Springs Pedestrian Crash at Florence and Shoemaker Avenues

Santa Fe Springs, California (September 16, 2019) – A man was critically injured after an alleged hit-and-run collision Friday night at an intersection in Santa Fe Springs, according to a local news source.

The collision happened at around 7:07 p.m. Friday, September 13, at Florence Avenue and Shoemaker Avenue.

As per the report, a man was found by officers lying down in the lanes with critical injuries. Officials later determined the injuries sustained by the man were as a result of being hit by a vehicle.

The pedestrian was treated at the scene by responding paramedics. He was then transported to Francis Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition.

No motorist was located at the scene when the officers arrived. Witnesses said the involved car appeared to be a Honda Accord or a Toyota Prius.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the collision as a hit-and-run.
