Minor Injuries Reported in Long Beach Accident on 605 Freeway at Willow Street
Long Beach, California (September 17, 2019) – Minor injuries were sustained after a traffic collision early Tuesday morning in the area of Long Beach, according to a local news source.
The collision happened a while after 1:00 a.m. Tuesday, on southbound 605 Freeway at Willow Street.
As per the report, a semi-truck and a vehicle crashed causing the big rig to overturn. Another vehicle then hit the truck’s engine that had fallen out on the highway as a result of the first collision.
Responding emergency crews attended to the crash victims. The semi-truck driver declined transportation to the hospital for further medical aid. Other parties involved in the collision were transported to the hospital for treatment.
The big rig was reportedly carrying a carnival ride and was on its way to Costa Mesa at the time.
Authorities closed all lanes of southbound 605 Freeway at Willow Street following the crash.
Traffic was diverted at Spring Street following the collision.
The authorities hoped that at least two lanes of the freeway will be re-opened as of 4:30 a.m.
An investigation is underway.
