Maximiliano Guerrero Killed in Bakersfield Bicycle Crash on Kentucky Street

Bakersfield, California (September 10, 2019) – The bicyclist killed after a hit-and-run bicycle crash Monday night has been identified as 46-year-old Maximiliano Guerrero, according to police.

The deadly crash happened in the 1000 block of Kentucky Street at around 9:21 p.m. on Monday.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Guerrero was struck by a vehicle described as silver Kia Rio, made between the years 2011 to 2017. The rider was then hit by a second vehicle.

Responding emergency crews declared Guerrero dead at the scene.

Authorities confirmed the Kia fled the scene after the crash and officials are still pursuing the Kia driver.

Officials said the second driver remained at the crash site and cooperated with police.
