Marysville Man Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on Hammonton-Smartsville Road at Dantoni Road in Yuba County

82-Year-Old Marysville Man Dies in Yuba County Car Accident on Hammonton-Smartsville Road at Dantoni Road

Yuba County, California (September 10, 2019) – A 82-year-old Marysville man was killed in a traffic accident at an intersection in Yuba County Monday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The tragic wreck happened at around 9:05 a.m. Monday, September 9 on Hammonton-Smartsville Road at Dantoni Road.

The CHP said the 82-year-old Marysville man was driving a 2010 Chevy southbound on Dantoni Road when he turned onto Hamonton-Smartsville Road and into the path of a westbound Freightliner that was hauling twin bottom-dump trailers.

The Chevy Tahoe was hit on the left side by the Freightliner, and both vehicles came to a stop in a dirt field, just south of Hammonton-Smartsville Road.

The Tahoe driver died in the crash. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of family.

The operator of the Freightliner sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by responding paramedics.

The crash remains under investigation.
