Compton Man Killed in Inglewood Pedestrian Accident on 405 Freeway near Woodruff Avenue
Inglewood, California (September 15, 2019) – A pedestrian died after being struck by two vehicles Friday night in Inglewood, according to officials.
The deadly accident happened at about 11:30 p.m. Friday, September 13 on 405 Freeway near Woodruff Avenue.
The California Highway Patrol said the pedestrian, a 28-year-old Compton man, was walking the southbound lanes of the freeway when he was hit by a dark-colored vehicle whose driver fled the scene. He was then struck by a Toyota Camry driven by a 64-year-old Compton man.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of the next of kin.
The Camry driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement officers.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident.
