Man Dies, Woman Hospitalized after Herald Crash on Highway 104 near Clay Station Road
Sacramento County, California (September 19, 2019) – According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, a person was killed and another was injured in a head-on crash in the Herald area of Sacramento County Wednesday afternoon.
The fatal crash took place at around 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, September 18 on Highway 104, just west of Clay Station Road.
As per the CHP report, an Infiniti driven by a 51-year-old man was traveling on Highway 104 when it veered across over double yellow lines for an unknown reason and collided head-on with a Subaru driven by a 63-year-old woman.
The Infiniti driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
The driver of the Subaru was transported to a hospital with moderate injuries.
The roadway was shut down as the investigation and cleanup took place.
It’s undetermined if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision. The crash remains under investigation.
