Man Killed in Long Beach Boat Accident near Seal Beach
Long Beach, California (September 14, 2019) – A man died when the boat he was riding on capsized in the breakwater off the Long Beach coast Friday afternoon, a local news source reported.
According to Brian Fisk of the Long Beach Fire Department, a marine distress signal went out at about 4:45 p.m. near Seal Beach.
Rescuers responded to the scene and found a 21-foot-long boat overturned in the water less than two miles from the shore. A man in his 50’s was pulled from the water unresponsive.
The victim was taken to the hospital but was later pronounced dead.
The rescuers searched the area for other possible victims but determined the man was the sole occupant of the boat.
