Man Injured in Redwood City Pedestrian Accident at James Avenue and El Camino Real

Redwood City, California (September 19, 2019) – A man was injured after being struck by a police patrol car in Redwood City on Wednesday morning.

According to a local news report, the accident happened in the area of James Avenue and El Camino Real at about 9:47 a.m. September 18.

The authorities were responding to reports of a home invasion in the area when the police patrol car struck a pedestrian who was walking to the center median.

The patrol car is reported to have also crashed into a BMW after striking the pedestrian.

The unidentified pedestrian was seriously injured in the accident and was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

One officer was hospitalized in unknown condition.

None of the occupants of the BMW was injured in the crash.

No further information was provided.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
