Male Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Pedestrian Accident on 5 Freeway near Lankershim Boulevard in Los Angeles

Man Severely Injured in Major Los Angeles Pedestrian Crash on 5 Freeway near Lankershim Boulevard

Los Angeles, California (September 23, 2019) – A male pedestrian was struck and injured by a vehicle on Sunday night in Los Angeles, according to authorities.

The major pedestrian accident occurred at about 9:29 p.m. Sunday, September 22, on 5 Freeway near Lankershim Boulevard.

As per the CHP officials, a man only described as a black male adult in dark clothing was walking across lanes from the right shoulder to the center divider when he was hit by a car for reasons still under investigation.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene and attended to the person who suffered injuries as a result of the crash. The man’s name and their current condition were not immediately released.

Lanes 2, 3,4 and 5 were blocked following the crash.

Authorities said the involved driver remained at the scene after the crash.

The vehicle was towed away from the scene.

No further details regarding this collision were released.

An investigation is underway.

Pedestrian Accidents in California

Motorists are required by the law to drive their vehicles reasonably to avoid traffic crashed. The law requires every driver of a car to yield to a right-of-way to a pedestrian crossing the highway within a marked crosswalk or within any unmarked crosswalk at a junction.
