Lisa Daoust Airlifted after Idyllwild Motorcycle Accident on Highway 243

Lisa Daoust ID’d as Motorcyclist Injured in Idyllwild Crash on Highway 243 near Saunders Meadow

Idyllwild, California (September 12, 2019) – Authorities have identified the motorcyclist who was seriously injured in a traffic accident that happened Sunday morning in Idyllwild as Lisa Daoust, 51, of San Jacinto.

The wreck took place at around 3:10 p.m. Sunday, September 8 on Highway 243, one mile south of Saunders Meadow.

According to the authorities, Daoust was riding a white 2018 Yamaha motorcycle southbound on Highway 243 when for an unknown reason, she crossed the center line and side-swiped a gray 2019 Jeep Cherokee driven by Ronaldo Castillo, 30, of Ontario, who was heading northbound on Highway 243.

 Daoust sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. A family member took the motorcycle.

Alcohol or drugs were not considered factors in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
