Jared Wright Critically Hurt in Palm Springs Hit-And-Run Pedestrian Accident on Vista Chino
Palm Springs, California (September 20, 2019) – 25-year-old Jared Wright has been identified as the pedestrian who was seriously injured in Palm Springs on Wednesday when he was hit by a vehicle that proceeded to drive about two miles with him on the roof
As per the report, the pedestrian collision was reported at approximately 4:00 a.m. September 11, on Vista Chino, east of Gene Autry Trail.
Authorities said Wright was struck by Volkswagen Passat driven by 40-year-old Randy Lee Miller who was under the influence of a central nervous system depressant at the time of the collision. The initial report indicated that Miller drove to his home with Wright on the roof.
Wright was seriously hurt in the crash. First responders arrived at Miller’s home and found Wright on the vehicle. Miller told authorities that he knew he hit something, but did not stop to investigate what it was until he arrived at his residence.
Miller was arrested and charged with the hit-and-run causing injury. He is due in Riverside County Court on October 3 for arraignment.
Meanwhile, the investigation is ongoing.
