Isaias Piceno Identified as Man Killed in Merced Motorcycle Crash on Santa Fe Drive at Avenue 2
Merced, California (September 23, 2019) – Authorities have identified the motorcyclist who died in a traffic accident that occurred Friday afternoon in Merced as Isaias Piceno, 20, of Winton.
The fatal crash happened Friday, September 20 on Santa Fe Drive at Avenue 2.
The California Highway Patrol said a 61-year-old woman was driving her car on the roadway when she made a stop at Avenue 2 and turned out into the path of a 2016 Harley-Davidson driven by Piceno, who was traveling on Santa Fe Drive.
Piceno was ejected from his bike upon the impact. He was declared dead at the scene.
The 61-year-old woman stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Alcohol or drugs were not suspected factors in the crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
Motorcycle riders are strongly encouraged to wear a safety helmet all the time to protect your brain in some types of crashes or if you fall off your bike and hit your head. The motorcyclist should wear protective gear and clothing that will minimize the amount of injuries in case of an accident or a skid. The riders are also advised to follow the same traffic laws as other motorists.
