Felipe Guzman ID’d as Driver Injured in Fatal Victorville Car Accident on Hook Boulevard near Brentwood Park
Victorville, California (September 7, 2019) – Felipe Guzman, 40, has been identified as the driver who caused a traffic accident that killed another motorist Thursday afternoon in Victorville.
The deadly crash happened shortly after 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 5 on Hook Boulevard near the Brentwood Elementary School.
According to a local news source, a black 2005 Jeep Cherokee driven by Guzma, was traveling eastbound on Hook Boulevard when for an unknown reason, the Jeep veered into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a gold Lexus sedan that was traveling westbound at the time.
The Jeep ended up facing the wrong way in the No. 2 lane of eastbound Hook Boulevard with major front-end damage. The impact pushed the sedan onto the sidewalk.
The driver of the sedan, identified as Laura Garcia, 48, of Victorville, was pinned inside the wreckage upon the impact. She was pronounced dead at the scene by responding paramedics.
Guzma was rushed to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
