90-Year-Old Man Killed in Long Beach Pedestrian Crash on Willow Street and La Vere Drive
Long Beach, California (September 16, 2019) – An elderly pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Sunday night in Long Beach, police reported.
The incident happened shortly before 9:30 p.m. September 15, in the area of Willow Street and La Vere Drive.
Police said a 90-year-old man was walking northbound across Willow Street and La Vere Drive in an unmarked crosswalk when he was hit by a white Toyota Tacoma heading west on Willow.
The victim was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. His name was not immediately released.
The driver fled the scene after the accident.
Police are conducting an investigation into the accident.
