Elderly Bicyclist Killed in Long Beach Crash near Los Coyotes Diagonal and Clark Avenue

83-Year-Old Long Beach Man Dies after Long Beach Bicycle Accident near Los Coyotes Diagonal and Clark Avenue

Long Beach, California (September 8, 2019) – According to a police report, an elderly bicyclist has succumbed to his injuries he sustained Thursday afternoon in a traffic accident in Long Beach.

The crash occurred at around noon Thursday, September 5 near Los Coyotes Diagonal and Clark Avenue.

As per the police report, the bicyclist, an 83-year-old Long Beach man, was riding his bike across the northbound lanes of Los Coyotes when for reasons still under investigation, he was hit by a 2000 Honda Civic operated by a 19-year-old Los Angeles resident.

The bicyclist suffered injuries to his upper body and was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The driver of the Honda was not injured and remained at the scene. Neither drugs nor alcohol was suspected factors in the crash.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
