Doug Stanley Identified as Rider Critically Injured in Motorcycle Crash on Lincoln Way in Auburn

Doug Stanley Injured in Auburn Motorcycle Accident on Lincoln Way

Auburn, California (September 11, 2019) – Doug Stanley of Auburn has been identified as the rider injured in an alleged DUI crash Monday afternoon in Auburn, according to authorities.

The collision occurred in the 100 block of Lincoln Way a while after 3:30 p.m. Monday, September 9.

As per the CHP officials, Matthew J. Griswold was driving westbound on Lincoln Way when he drifted across the double yellow lines for unknown reasons and slammed into an oncoming motorcycle driven by Stanley.

Emergency crews along with medical personnel arrived at the scene and rushed Stanley to an area hospital with critical injuries. His 10-year-old Jett Stanley who was riding as a passenger in the bike was transported to the hospital as a precaution.

Officials determined that Griswold was drunk at the time of the collision. The suspect was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

An investigation is ongoing.
