CHP Investigating Multi-Vehicle Collision on Highway 37 in Sonoma County

At Least 1 Airlifted after Highway 37 Multi-Vehicle Crash near Sears Point in Sonoma County

Sonoma County, California (September 9, 2019) – A helicopter landed on the eastbound lanes of Highway 37 on Sunday evening to airlift the victim of a car crash that resulted in major injuries, authorities said.

The Highway 37 multi-vehicle crash happened near Sears Point in Sonoma County.

Four vehicles were involved in the collision.

A medical helicopter was dispatched to the scene to airlift at least one person who sustained major injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The roadway remained closed for over an hour as investigators worked the scene.

Motorists were advised to take alternative routes, one of which was taking State Route 121 to Highway 12 and then to Highway 29, which will meet back up with Highway 37 in Vallejo.

All lanes were reopened at about 5:05 p.m., authorities said.
