Humboldt County, California (September 7, 2019) – A child died after being hit by a car in the Hoopa area of Humboldt County on Saturday morning.

The fatal pedestrian accident happened at about 12:30 a.m. in the area of State Route 96 and Mill Road, according to a local news source.

The authorities said the child was walking in the area when a car driven by Vanessa Graeber, 28, hit him.

The child was pronounced dead at the scene.

The name and age of the victim were not immediately disclosed.

An investigation to determine the cause of the deadly collision is ongoing.
