Brandy Rhodes Injured in 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 243 in Idyllwild

Brandy Rhodes Hospitalized after Idyllwild Car Accident on Highway 243 near Saunders Meadow

Idyllwild, California (September 11, 2019) – The person who was injured Sunday morning in a traffic accident in Idyllwild has been identified as Brandy Rhodes, 43, of Idyllwild.

The crash happened at around 11:40 a.m. Sunday, September 8 on Highway 243, just a few hundred feet south of Saunders Meadow.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a silver 2004 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by Taylor Winchester, 34, of Murrieta, was heading northbound on Highway 243 when the truck entered a right-hand curve, straightened out the curve and veered across the double yellow lines where it collided with a southbound 2013 black Toyota Prius operated by Rhodes.

Rhodes was taken to Temecula Valley Hospital with unspecified injuries. Aaron Rhodes, who was riding as a passenger in the right front seat of the truck, was not injured.

Winchester was uninjured. He told authorities that he was driving at a high rate of speed when the accident occurred.

Both vehicles were towed away from the crash site.

Neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected factors in the crash.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
