64-Year-Old Man Injured in San Diego Bicycle Accident on Nimitz Boulevard

San Diego, California (September 7, 2019) – A bicyclist was injured Saturday morning in a hit-and-run accident in the Point Loma Heights area of San Diego, according to a local news source.

According to police, the bicyclist, a 64-year-old man, was walking or riding his bike northbound in the bike lane of Nimitz Boulevard when for an unknown reason, he was hit or sideswiped by a white Nissan Versa or similar vehicle that was heading northbound in the No. 2 lane.

The driver of the vehicle involved did not stop to render aid to the bicyclist and fled the scene. The victim was found on the ground by another motorist.

Police said the bicyclist sustained an open pelvic fracture and multiple other major, life-threatening injuries. The name and current condition of the patient were not immediately disclosed.
