Jeffrey McNerney, Bobbi Bainconnor and Denise Kudla Killed in Paso Robles Head-On Crash

Paso Robles, California (September 3, 2019) – Authorities have identified the three people who died in a tragic car collision that happened Monday afternoon in Paso Robles.

The three victims were 51-year-old Jeffrey A. McNerney, 45-year-old Bobbi Jo Bainconnor, and 59-year-old Denise A. Kudla, all residents of Paso Robles.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at about 2:09 p.m. on Nacimiento Lake Drive east of San Marcos Road.

Officers said McNerney was traveling eastbound in a 2015 Dodge Dart with Bainconnor as his passenger. At the same time, 58-year-old John Kudla, of Paso Robles, was westbound in a 2001 Ford F-150 with Denise Kudla as his passenger.

Officers said as the cars approached each other, the Dodge crossed the double yellow lines in an attempt to pass another eastbound vehicle. The Dodge ended up colliding head-on with the Ford in the westbound lane.

McNerney and Bainconnor died at the crash scene. Paramedics performed CPR on Denise Kudla and then transported her to a local trauma center where she was pronounced dead.

John Kudla transported himself to the hospital for treatment of lacerations and cuts.

Officers said McNerney was possibly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

The crash is under an active investigation.
