3 Injured in Car Accident on Highway 101 near St. Vincent Drive in San Rafael

San Rafael, California (September 18, 2019 – According to the California Highway Patrol, three people were injured in a car accident which occurred on Wednesday morning in San Rafael.

The accident happened on Highway 101 near St. Vincent Drive at about 8:20 a.m. on Highway 101 near St. Vincent Drive.

An SUV was reportedly traveling northbound on the roadway when it rear-ended a second car for unknown reasons.

The impact of the collision sent the SUV off the roadway where it overturned and caught fire.

The authorities who responded to the incident had to extricate the female driver of the SUV and her two teenage passengers.

The woman is reported to have suffered major injuries and was airlifted to John Muir Medical Center in critical condition.

The two teenagers were hospitalized with serious injuries.

The second driver was unhurt.

No further information on the accident was provided.

An investigation to determine the cause of the accident is ongoing.
