1 Injured in End-of-Pursuit Accident at Broadway and Truesdale Street in Eureka

1 Hospitalized after Eureka Crash at Broadway and Truesdale Street

Eureka, California (October 22, 2019) – According to a police report, a person was hospitalized after a police pursuit ended in a car crash Tuesday afternoon in Eureka.

The accident, which was reported at around noon, happened at the intersection of Broadway and Truesdale Street.

As per the report, a Eureka Police Department officer was heading southbound on Broadway when a Toyota Tundra, traveling at a high rate of speed past them in the center turn lane. The officer attempted to stop the driver but couldn’t reach him.

Moments later, the Tundra collided with two other vehicles at the intersection. The force of the impact caused the Tundra to hit a street light pole, a street sign and a stop sign near the intersection.

The driver of one of the vehicles struck by the Tundra was transported to a hospital with minor injuries.

The male driver of the Tundra was arrested and cleared medically as a precaution. He was then transported into custody.

Traffic was backed up in the area while the authorities investigated the crash.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
