Woman Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on U.S. 395 in Inyo County

Woman Killed in Inyo County Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 395

Inyo County, California (August 19, 2019) – A woman was killed Sunday evening in a wrong-way crash in Inyo County, near the town of Independence, a local news source reported.

The collision occurred just before 6:00 p.m. August 18, on U.S. 395.

According to the CHP, the woman was driving an SUV the wrong way on the highway when she crashed into a pickup truck.

A semi-truck jack-knifed in an attempt to avoid the crash.

The SUV driver was rushed to the hospital where she later died. Her name has not been disclosed.

The pickup driver was also taken to the hospital with major injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
